Kanungu District Local Government

Kanungu District is one of the Local Governments, under the Uganda Government decentralization policy, located in the west of Uganda.

We are the pearl of the Pearl of Africa.

The district’s headquarters are located in the town of Kanungu.

The district comprises one county with the twelve sub-counties of :

Kihihi

Kambugu

Nyamirama

Rugyeyo

Rutenga

Kayonza

Mpungu

Kinaaba

Kateete

Nyakinoni

Nyanga

Kanyantorogo

and the four town counils of Kanungu, Kihihi, BUtogota and Kambuga.
